Due to major track renovation works to be carried out near Coimbatore junction from 3rd to 6th of September, 2015, there will be major change in the operation of trains that originate/terminate/pass through Coimbatore junction.
The works to be carried out is called “elimination of Scissors Crossing/Cross Over”. Two such crossings exist near the Road Over Bridge adjacent to Coimbatore junction at present.
To impress upon the significance of Tamil phonetics, the AIADMK government has issued a government order amending the English spelling of 1,018 cities and places or giving them a totally new official name.
